"Fields of Faith" was an event held on the football field at Benton Academy October 11, 2016. Benton Baptist Church's Bro. Charles Moore as Benton Academy Chaplin was the event planer. Special thanks go out to the speaker, Gary Maze, Associate Pastor of Broadmoor Baptist in Madison and to Dr. David White of Black Jack Baptist Church. Bro. Charles is excited about the participation of 7 schools, and 7 churches and 130 attendees. Benton Academy staff and teachers and students are certainly to be commended and thanked for their participation and assistance. The music program was inspirational and an important part of the program as well. Let us all continue to pray for the spiritual growth of the youth in this country and around the world. Jesus is always the answer!
That ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend...what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge. Ephesians 3:17-19

FROM THE PASTOR Benton Baptist Church was estalished on October 16, 1955. The Rev. Roy Self was the founding pastor and Yazoo Baptist Missions director at the time. The Association rented an abandoned store building in Benton for inaugural services. Two hymns became a source of inspiration: Saved, Saved and Heavenly Sunlight. Later, the new congregation formally constituted itself on December 12, 1955 at 2:30 pm with 51 charter members. The new church's mission was to be a worshipping couumnity and an evangelistic witness in ministry and missions. Self's founding sermon was from John 4:35. This text tells us the fields are ripe and white unto harvest. They still are today and Benton Baptist Church's mission and resolve is unchanged even as the congregation basks in the afterglow of the golden anniversary and anticipates its eventual diamond jubilee! Let us go forth to harvest the souls in this community. By His Grace Go With God Rev. Charles Moore, Pastor

FROM THE PASTOR August marks the return to school and the count down to the Fall. It begins the home stretch to the holidays. Walmart is already promoting "Back To School" sales and supplies! Summer break is over and it is time to begin again the work of learning. August also marks our new church year. It is time for "all hands on deck!" Each of us are needed. Service is both duty and privilege; service is also an act of worship to Jesus. It is time for us to return from our summer breaks, our vacations, our pursuits and distractions; it is time to begin again the work of leading, learning, loving and serving in Jesus' name! "Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you. Hosea 10:12 KJV
Eddie Luse read each name before the flags were placed and taps were played. Grateful Benton Church members stood at attention during the memorial and stayed to discuss what these had done for all of us. Also of course knowing and remembering our current service men, and what they sacrifice in order to serve in the name of FREEDOM.
Bro. Charles assisted Eddie Luse and several other church members in placing flags on the veterans graves to honor them on Memorial Day.
Sunday School at 9:30 Church at 10:30 this morning Church/Bible Study this evening at 5:00 We invite you to come.
